Purity is one word that has diminished in emphasis within a few years as the world turns more immoral. Today, it is sad that people dress almost naked while walking on the streets without feeling bad about what they are even wearing. Moreover, the rise of internet porn and surging daily consumption of it has even worsened the situation. Why? Because porn has an adverse effect on the human brain, and for guys, it distorts their healthy view of women. How sad! But just because many people are not living in purity doesn’t mean we believers are to live like them. No! The Bible says in 1 Peter 2:12 (NIV) that believers should,
“Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.”
Think about this. You are called to be different. Therefore, it is your responsibility to keep yourself pure even in the midst of this perverse generation.
Let God purify your eyes
Your eye is the window to your soul and brain. That implies that what you see and watch affects how you think, whether you like it or not. That is why it is essential to filter your social media feed if you want to exercise rulership over what your eyes consume. There are some things that are not good for your eyes to watch. So it is better not to watch it rather than watch for your mental sanity to be affected.
Living right with God wherever you are will cost you a lot. But in the midst of that, never give up on God. He will vindicate you.

Job made a covenant with his eyes not to watch women lustfully (see Job 31:1). That covenant is necessary to harness in the life of every believing male, especially the husbands. But yours may not be lust after women; it may be other things, like craving for material things, arrogance, and harmful drugs. You need God to purge your life of every filth if you really want to live pure before Him. Men of purity in Christ are not those moved by worldly things.
Be conscious of your integrity
Sometimes, the temptation to sin comes without your prior knowledge of it. Think about Joseph in the Bible, who was going about his duties as a slave in Potiphar’s house. Then, the master’s wife set her eyes on him to convince him to have sex with her. In that case, it isn’t Joseph’s fault for that temptation. But he fled. Why? He was conscious of his integrity before God. That is why he told Potiphar’s wife that he would not commit such a sin before God (see Genesis 39:9). Joseph saw the act of adultery as wickedness before God. Can I tell you something, child of God? Living right with God wherever you are will cost you a lot. But in the midst of that, never give up on God. He will vindicate you.
Stay pure!!!
