We live in a dire world where many evil things are happening in several areas. Injustices against the children of God are constantly rising, with more believers forced to compromise to fit into the evil systems of God. For some, it’s not because some Christians want it; the influence is external. For example, how does it feel to be in a corporate work environment where bribery and corruption are the norm for the workers? If you, as a child of God, refuse to practise these, some of the workers will see you as the ‘black sheep’ in the company. Some may even conspire to get you laid off because you aren’t following after their evils. But God is on your side.
On the other hand, if the influence to conform to the evil patterns of the world is external, but you are there by your choice, then it’s a different case. But the Lord knows how to deliver the godly. Let’s delve deeper into Lot’s case in this study scripture article from 2 Peter 2:9-11.
Verse 9
“then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,” – 2 Peter 2:9 (NKJV)
Lot was a man who was constantly tortured mentally by the constant sight of evil in his neighbourhood, Sodom. He chose to live there with his family and herdsmen when the land was plain after his herdsmen got into a feud with Abraham, his cousin’s herdsmen (see Genesis 13:8-11). When he made that choice, there wasn’t any hint that it would become an evil land, but it became so after a few years. You see, this is what happens when people make choices about their lives based on present circumstances and forget about the future impact of what those decisions will happen in their lives.
But even if you made the wrong choice, God knows how to order your steps back on track for His destiny in your life. Fret not, dear one. No matter who did that bad thing to you, remember that vengeance is from the Lord.
If you made the wrong choice, God knows how to order your steps back on track for His destiny in your life.

Verse 10
“and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority. They are presumptuous, self-willed. They are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries,” – 2 Peter 2:10 (NKJV)
Continuing from verse 9, verse 10 states that God knows how to punish those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and those who despise authority. Scripture has sidelined these people, and they will be penalised unless they repent. That is why it is very important to keep preaching the gospel to several people; nobody who dies in sin will escape God’s punishment.
Verse 11
“whereas angels, who are greater in power and might, do not bring a reviling accusation against them before the Lord.” – 2 Peter 2:11 (NKJV)
Even angels, who are more powerful and mighty due to their natural physique, do not bring a reviling accusation against those scripture has sidelined to be punished before God. Why? Because judging people by their evils is not part of their calling. It is only fallen angels, that is, the demons, who are experts in suggesting evils in the minds of God’s people, and as a believer, you have authority against them. Be careful of how you live in this generation, always being mindful of pleasing the Lord in all that you do.
You are a blessing.
