Have you ever wondered about doing something you think it’s impossible with man? I don’t know about you, but for me, “Yes.” Such thoughts come into my mind as creative thoughts. And the ideas are sometimes so enormous that they impress upon my heart to pray about them.
Later, I read Luke 18:27 (NIV), where Jesus said that “… What is impossible with man is possible with God.” And that amazed me.
This verse was Jesus’s reply to His disciples when they questioned Him on who could be saved; having said that,
“Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
Luke 18:25 (NIV)
From that statement, there are several things God can do that man cannot do. And in this article, I’m going to show you three things impossible with man but possible with God.
1. Man can’t change another man
Have you wondered why you’ve never ceased struggling to change another man? It’s because you’re not created to do that work by yourself. Only God can. And if God will use a man to do that, He’ll give him His Word and empower him with the Holy Spirit to do it.
If your pastor’s sermons transform your life, it’s not because of him. It’s a result of how God is using Him to speak His Word to you and how seriously you’re taking the spiritual food.
Only God knows the core of each person. So He is the one who changes people from within. Share on XThe truth is that only God knows the core of each person. So He is the one who changes people from within. If God tells you to help another person change, especially your spouse, don’t ever think of doing all the work without His wisdom. You’ll just set yourself up for self-disappointment. Look to God to provide the divine wisdom to do that work.
2. Man cannot save another man
Salvation is never found in any individual’s name. Only Jesus saves, not any man or even the salvation prayer (Acts 4:13). Anyone who comes to you promising you of securing your place in eternity is a liar. Follow those who’ll help you follow Christ, not those who will make you follow them for selfish benefits.
3. Man cannot do any relevant kingdom assignment without God’s help
Kingdom mandates are fulfilled with kingdom help. No matter how great your vision is, you cannot do it without God. Jesus said in John 15:5 that,
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
John 15:5 (NIV)
We, believers, are the branches of Christ. And since no branch can survive when disconnected from the main tree, we cannot do any relevant kingdom assignment without Jesus.
Understand that God is bigger than the entire universe. So accept your limitations and depend on Him. He’ll make your paths prosperous.
