As a spiritual leader in Christ, spiritual authority is one of the non-negotiable things you need. Without it, you’ll have problems handling the people God has given you, which will, in turn, affect the growth of God’s divine vision you are in charge of. Jesus knew this, so before He set out to start ministry at age 30, the Bible states that He grew in wisdom and stature and in favour with God and men (see Luke 2:52). So if even Jesus needed this, how much more you?
Be stable in your divine vision
Jesus never lived on Earth as a confused person. No! Even at age twelve, He knew He had to be about His Father’s business (see Luke 2:49). So after John the Baptist baptised Him, and the Father announced Him from the heavens, He decided to choose helpers. That was how He ended up choosing twelve disciples to follow Him. For some, He just had to tell them, “Follow me.” But for people like Peter and Andrew, He had to perform one miracle before them for them to see the spiritual authority he had for them to be convinced about their decision to follow Him (see Luke 5:1-11).
But all these wouldn’t have happened if Jesus wasn’t stable in His divine vision. Why do I say that? It is dangerous to tell people to follow a leader without vision stability. If such people do, the leader will mess up their lives. And unfortunately, some people on this Earth have suffered from this. Dear man of God, God has helpers for you, but you shouldn’t be confused about what He is building through you.

Command a following as a leader
The senior pastor in my local church once told me that real leaders don’t demand a following; they command it. Just look at Jesus’ life. He never struggled to convince people to follow Him. In fact, He even turned down some people’s requests to follow Him after they gave Him excuses (see Luke 9:57-62). If you are a leader and you are struggling to rally people around you to push God’s divine vision on board, you must pray for that spiritual gift because you need it badly.

Lead your team
Getting people on board with you as a leader is one thing and another to ensure they are all working towards one vision. In fact, the second one is more difficult because it requires long-term work. Jesus showed us this very well. After spending hours ministering to others, He’ll have a personal fellowship with the twelve disciples. So, dear leader, meetings are essential. Pour out your wisdom in them constantly. Don’t be so focused on the masses; focus on your in-house team because they’ll help lighten your burden on taking care of the masses.
You are a blessing.
