Trust God To Fulfil What He Has Said About Your Life

As a man of vision, I’ve seen God do so many wondrous things in my life that beat my wildest imagination, all because I chose to submit unto His leadership without knowing where I’ll be tomorrow. But I’ve also seen things get destroyed because I rushed to take steps just after God revealed those ideas to me. And each time those incidents happen, I remember turning to prayer only for the Holy Spirit to confront me of my rushing attitude. Seeing all these things at the early stages of my life, I’ve learned to trust God to fulfil what He has said about my life, always meticulous not to get ahead of Him.

God is your ultimate Leader

Every leader knows he’s ahead of the follower. That’s why all leaders are visionary in thought and deeds. But there’s no godly human leadership without its root traced to the Spirit. God exhibited (and still shows leadership) in the heavenly realms before creating humans to have dominion over everything on Earth (Genesis 1:28). That’s why you see words like “Most High,” “Father,” “Lord,” and “Majesty” several times in the Bible. That’s enough to conclude that God is your leader. He knows what’s ahead of your life more than you know. He even knows you more than you know yourself because He created you. But do you trust Him?

Trust is one non-negotiable trait every follower looks for in a leader. That’s why good integrity is essential to possess as a leader. But God is faithful (1 Corinthians 1:9). He is committed to doing you good by leading you well. And when He gives you vision, He is so committed to seeing what He has planned about your life get fulfilled. However, we sometimes miss His timing for doing things. 2 Peter 3:8-9 (NKJV) says,

“[8] But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. [9] The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”

Although Apostle Peter wrote this scripture to encourage believers to keep hoping for the second coming of Jesus, it’s also applicable in our lives as to how we discern God’s timing for doing things in our lives. Some people think God is slack in carrying out His promises concerning our lives because they can’t find the balance between faith and patience. It’s not true.

Avoid rushing the process

What you think will take too long for God to fulfil can be done in a few days. A thousand years is like a day before Him. What you believe He can do in a few days can take months to see its manifestation.

God doesn’t calculate time as man does. He’s a God of times and seasons. But it takes spiritual discernment to know what He’s doing in every season of your life. Don’t rush the process. Yes, you have the anointing to touch nations for Christ. But have you gone through the wilderness? Even Jesus couldn’t skip it (Luke 4:1). How much more you?

It’s in those seasons He prunes you of every filthy character in your heart that is destructive to your high calling.

God doesn’t calculate time as man does. He’s a God of times and seasons. But it takes spiritual discernment to know what He’s doing in every season of your life.

Serve the Lord with gladness

Instead of complaining about why so many things are getting delayed in your life, serve God with gladness and reverent fear in grace (Psalm 100:2, Hebrews 12:28). He will keep surprising you with notable miracles you never dreamed of.

Remember that God is more concerned with building intimacy with you than what you do for Him for people to see. Once He’s with you, wrap yourself in the consciousness of that truth. It is well with you.
