When God created the first two people – Adam and Eve, He made them without any knowledge of sin. And because of this, they were living in the garden of Eden and doing God’s work without any troubles.
God told them to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:28). Even though this command exceeds childbearing, having children is an integral part of this command. Why? Because the presence of godly seed helps fulfil the dominion agenda of God through man on Earth. However, Eve didn’t know she had a womb inside her, and Adam also didn’t figure out he had to make love to his wife to bear children. So they didn’t reproduce any child before the fall happened.
Man reproduced in the likeness of sinful flesh
After the fall happened in Genesis 3 and God was meting out its consequences to Adam, Eve and the serpent (Genesis 3:14-19), Adam then realised that Eve had a womb and that she could bear children (Genesis 3:20, 4:1). But it was late to produce godly seed because they already got corrupted with sin.
So man reproduced in his own likeness and after his own image (Genesis 5:3), not in God’s likeness nor after God’s image as they were originally created. Hence, all people that were (and are still) born already had their core makeup full of sin. Human is beyond repair. So God sent Jesus to change us.
Jesus is the only one heaven has approved to change you
In Acts 4:10-12, it’s written that,
“let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ 12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Acts 4:10-12 (NKJV)
According to these Bible verses, salvation is only found in the name of Jesus. Without salvation, God can’t change your life. Why? He has placed eternal life, the core solution to every problem of humans, in Christ Jesus alone (1 John 5:11-12).
Jesus still uses men to transform your life
You don’t need repair; you need transformation. And that transformation is done by Jesus.
Jesus knew that all men would depend on Him for transformation and spiritual growth. So He came up with three systems to do this work.
- Introduction of the Holy Spirit
- Introduction of the Bible – The Word of God
- Introduction of ministers in the church to train believers to do the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:11-13).
You don’t need repair; you need transformation. And that transformation is done by Jesus.

So the believers in your life, the Bible and the Holy Spirit in you are all stakeholders of your spiritual transformation.
Only God can change you. So every system and person He uses to accomplish this work in you is for your good. Honour men of God because they watch over your souls (Hebrews 13:17). However, don’t depend on any man because it’s God who uses men to bless and transform men. Let the Word of God work in you.
