Three Godly Principles You Must Always Keep In Mind

What is life? Some say it’s a game. Others say it’s full of ups and downs. But God is the definer of life. In John 17:3 (NIV), Jesus said,

“Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.”

So life is all about knowing God and Jesus, His sent One. But from the beginning, God has built everything on earth to function by principles.

For example, He built seeds into fruits so that the seeds would reproduce the trees of their kind. Hence, in every fruit are seeds, and in every seed is a tree. These spiritual principles will never change. And the earlier you understand this, the better.

In this article, I would like to minister on three godly principles in the Bible that you must always keep in mind.

1. You shall reap what you sow

The principle of seedtime and harvest is the first principle that God said would work as long as the earth endures (Genesis 8:22). Everything on this earth revolves around it. Galatians 6:7 (NIV) says,

“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.”

When you sow a seed, you’ll reap a tree. When you give, you shall receive (Luke 6:38). When a husband impregnates his wife, he’ll have a baby from her. If a student learns hard, he’ll definitely perform well in his exams. When a pastor sweats to study the Bible and read Christian books, his divine knowledge of Christ will surely increase.

There is nothing you do today that doesn’t generate results for you in the future. And because of the nature of this principle, it boils down to us putting in the right work in what we sow because that controls what we reap.

If you’re not happy with how your life is today, stop lamenting about the result; check what caused those problems. Maybe your current financial bankruptcy is due to a lack of knowledge about strategic business plans. It could be that you don’t know how to manage your time well, or you’re making the wrong investments. Until you analyse your life, you’ll not be able to detect errors to correct by the standards of God’s Word.

2. You will become more fruitful with what you focus on

Secondly, you advance in what you focus on. No matter how great your vision is, if you don’t focus on it, you’ll not see progression and growth. That is why most influential people are workaholics. They work more than ordinary employees.

One of Paul’s principles that helped him achieve much in the ministry is written in Philippians 3:13-14 (NIV). He said,

[13] “Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, [14] I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

Paul worked more than all the apostles (1 Corinthians 10:15). Hence, his impact on the church, even today, is still greater than all the other apostles. He focused on his ministry.

Do you know your purpose in Christ? If yes, learn to cut out some tasks to focus on them. I love Pastor Craig Groeschel of Life.Church said about this: “Starve your distractions; feed your focus.” However, if you don’t, come to Jesus for Him to reveal it unto you.

3. You keep a clean credential about your life when you refuse to take advantage of other people

Because there are over eight billion people on this earth, people are everywhere. Nobody is an island. You need the help of others in your life. However, the more you interact with people, the more they get to know how you are.

When you start taking advantage of others, you build bad memories about yourself in their minds. Paul warned us, Christians, not to do this evil in 1 Thessalonians 4:6 (NIV). He said,

“and that in this matter no one should wrong or take advantage of a brother or sister. The Lord will punish all those who commit such sins, as we told you and warned you before.”

Just because you’ve got to know someone doesn’t mean you should take advantage of him. This evil has affected families, close friends, brethren in churches and even spouses. Keep in mind that it’s always better to keep a clean sheet about you in people’s minds by always doing the right thing, whether you get accreditation for your deeds or not.
