Choice, Man’s Most Powerful Weapon

Have you ever wondered what man’s most powerful weapon is? You may say it’s money, cars, properties, educational certificates or connections with people of influence. All these objectives are considerable. But to me, choice is man’s most powerful weapon. Why? Because, with choice,

  • A person accepts Jesus as Lord and personal saviour, through which God gives him security against hell in eternity.
  • A man can decide to turn his life around by doing the things he foresees in his mind.

Many people do things because it is their choice to do, even more than what God tells people to do audibly. Ask yourself, when was the last time you asked God what to eat before buying or preparing that food? Do you remember a day you told God that you were going to sleep before doing so?

You see, many things that happen in our world are usually because of people’s daily choices, whether good or bad. And both God and the devil know this. That is why both are in competition for souls, especially the devil, so as to get their minds to manipulate and carry out his evil purposes.

The god of this age

2 Corinthians 4:4 NIV says,

“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”

From here, the devil is the god of this age. And this age is full of evil too (see Galatians 1:4). Therefore, all the evil happenings in every part of this world are from him influencing minds, especially unbelievers, to do them.

How can a loving God tell you to kill someone who needs salvation? Isn’t that thought of the devil? Sometimes, people think they do what they do because they feel like doing it. But it’s usually not true. The majority of the actions of people have spiritual sources – either from God or the devil. Because in this world, it’s either you have God or are unsaved. And even that, some people who’ve been saved still get manipulated by demons to do nonsensical things (especially the spiritually immature ones).

God will not let you walk in the wrong places when you submit your ways to Him.

You need God

Making the right choices is paramount to having a great life. And when those choices are rooted in divine vision, finding fulfilment in life becomes easy.

God knows that for you to think right, your mind needs to get fed with the right content, which is the Word. However, mindset renewal in Christ doesn’t occur before you get saved; it begins after you’re born again. Therefore, you need God. Because without Him, you cannot receive any spiritual food to live right and walk in good works.

Your mind is very essential to God. He reveals many things He wants to do in this generation as seeds of eternity into His children’s minds. That’s why it’s not natural for a person to dedicate his life to serving God; it’s supernatural.

Making the right choices is paramount to having a great life. And when those choices are rooted in divine vision, finding fulfilment in life becomes easy.

Submit your ways to God

As a believer in Christ, note that God has still not taken your will from you. In fact, it’s still there, so you can willfully submit it to Him.

Proverbs 3:6 NIV says,

“in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

You’ll have your way in your thoughts. But when you submit your mind to God, there’s an assurance in this verse above that God will make your paths straight. In other words, He’ll not let you walk in the wrong places when you submit your ways to Him.

Not all that glitters is gold

Your choice may look glamorous in your mind. But always ask God for clarity before pursuing each one of them. Ask Him to give you a clearer vision of what you intend to do because not all that glitters (physically or mentally) is gold.

When you do that, He will answer you directly or show you another brethren to contact for more information. Remember that the body of Christ comprises a network of believers all around the globe. One brother helps the other. Choose well!
