When humans sin, it really infuriates God. I believe the ongoing sins in this generation are far worse than those committed by the people who lived in Noah’s time. But one thing that hasn’t made God wipe out the human race was the declaration He made when Noah offered a sacrifice unto Him that He won’t destroy the Earth with water again (see Genesis 8:21). Nevertheless, the second coming of Jesus is near, and God will judge the Earth. So live clean before Him.

The Word is truth, and it’s not fake. But to insist on this, Peter wrote about it in 2 Peter 1:16-18, where he took time to disband the claims of false teachers and prophets going around to say the gospel wasn’t relevant in those times. Today, that scripture, 2 Peter 1:16-18 is important to discuss because the attack on the gospel hasn’t changed. Let’s take them on verse by verse.

Some believers are always praying to God for “things” but failing to give themselves wholly to His calling upon their lives. That has resulted in many Christians living selfish lives, comprising “Give me, give me, God,” instead of giving diligence to their calling in Christ. Today, by the mercies of God, it’s a privilege to write concerning this issue in 2 Peter 1:5-7. Let’s delve deeper.

Do not forget that God’s Word remains true despite the changing things in the world. If you ever lose consciousness of this, at least remind yourself how old the Bible is, yet it has never faded or lost impact.
