As a child of God, let it be in your consciousness that the fact that you’re born again means you’re odd. And that oddness isn’t because of anything wrong you’ve done; it’s just because God has chosen you. For that sake, you will be persecuted. But when it happens, instead of bowing down in shame, praise God for bearing Christ’s sufferings in your body.
1st Peter chapter 4 verses 7 to 11 covers general instructions to all believers in Christ, concerning how we ought to live careful lives and behave well to one another as we serve for God’s glory. The instructions are many. But today, by God’s grace, I’ll take them one by one and delve deeper into this article. So don’t stop here. Go ahead and read on.

“… for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.” Really, that statement got me thinking a lot. But upon careful analysis of what the Apostle was writing, it is true. Let’s delve deeper into these three initial verses of 1 Peter chapter 4.
While water killed evil people in the Old Testament during flood, today in Christ, the water, which is the Word of God, saves us and gives us a good conscience toward God.
Today’s Word is a reference to our suffering and probably an encouraging message to you and me. That is, our author and finisher of our faith, Christ, also suffered for sins. So even though we suffer for righteousness’ sake, Christ suffered and paid the price of the righteousness we are in Him.
To sanctify the Lord God in your heart means to revere Him every single time, whether man recognises it or not. That is why as a believer, doing the right thing at all times will amaze others. But such is your life.

As far as I know, God’s principles work no matter the changing seasons in this life. He inspired David to say what you must do if you want to love life and see good days in Psalm 34:14-17.
Starting chapter 3 of the 1st Epistle of Peter, the Apostle did an awesome work of writing about specific instructions to wives first and then to husbands. However, from verses 8 through 9, he continues to give seven general godly instructions to the brethren in Christ. Today, I’m glad to write about them in this article. I believe it’ll be helpful to you in your faith journey with Jesus.
Godly marriage is a reflection of the relationship Jesus has with the Church. So, if a husband doesn’t love and relate to his wife like Jesus does with the Church, God’s system is under compromise. And since God never changes, He would prefer to discipline you for you to come back to your senses instead of compromising to accommodate your wrong character. Learn how the Bible explains how important it is for believing husbands to live with their wives with understanding.
Dear believing wife, you’re also a seed of Abraham (see Galatians 3:29) because you’re in Christ. So call your husband “lord.” He should be your second in command in life; the first is God. Submit to him. Relate to him in a quiet and gentle spirit, not a rebellious character; else, you’ll ruin his peace of mind. And above all, follow God’s principle in relating to all people in all calmness and gentility.
