Ways to follow
Dear believing wife, you’re also a seed of Abraham (see Galatians 3:29) because you’re in Christ. So call your husband “lord.” He should be your second in command in life; the first is God. Submit to him. Relate to him in a quiet and gentle spirit, not a rebellious character; else, you’ll ruin his peace of mind. And above all, follow God’s principle in relating to all people in all calmness and gentility.
We children of God, were called not just to believe in Jesus but also to suffer for his sake (see Philippians 1:29). That means it’s erroneous to think there’s no suffering for you when you come to Christ. There is, but since Jesus becomes the author and finisher of your faith, no situation will be able to weigh you down in life.
In the world of work, many people complain about how bad their bosses are. Some want to enjoy freedom at the workplace, doing whatever they like with company resources without fulfilling the tasks the company hired them to do. And this has made several workplaces lack hardworking and loyal employees who rarely don’t need supervision to do what they are supposed to do. How many times have you flipped through Paul’s second epistle to Timothy and saw the words “In the last days, perilous times will come…”? It’s there in 2nd Timothy 3:1. Right? But how profound is that warning to us believers of today? I tell you that it’s even more solemn today than the time the epistle was written. Why? Because the second coming of Jesus is nearer than before.
Verse 11 and downwards of 1 Peter chapter 2 opens a new area of teaching where Apostle Peter speaks on how the children of God ought to live in this fallen world. One of them is the necessity for a believer to abstain from fleshly lusts.
In 1 Peter 2:7-10, Apostle Peter revealed the importance of building everything on the chief cornerstone — Jesus. As a believer, you must understand this because you’re God’s chosen one, a priest and part of His holy nation.
As you focus on growing spiritually in the Lord, you’ll draw near Jesus. And by that, your inner man will be built up to become all that God created you to be and do.

In 1 Peter 1:22-25 NKJV, the Apostle Peter teaches about how we can love one another fervently with a pure heart in Christ. As children of God, this is possible, but requires spiritual maturity.
Even though persecution for the cause of Christ abound in this evil world, Apostle Peter in his epistle, encourages you to conduct yourself throughout your stay on Earth in reverent fear using 1 Peter 1:17-21.
