How To Create And Follow A Personal Monthly Plan

Do you know that planning is essential in every person’s life? Without it, things get haphazardly done, and progress becomes hard to track. I never knew how significant planning is until I finished reading Dr Myles Munroe’s book titled The Principles and Power of Vision. Today, I can organise my day and prepare a year and month plan with the help of God.

However, it would be selfish to know all these things and keep them to myself. So in this article, I want to teach you how to create and follow a personal monthly plan in four easy steps. Are you ready? Keep reading.

1. List what you want to do in the month

I usually start preparing a personal monthly plan a week or two before the next coming month so that I can take enough time to list down all the ideas of things I want to do the next coming month.

If you already have a year plan, you can refer to it to get ideas for your monthly plan. But if not, you have to pen down your thoughts.

God is faithful. When you pray for Him to show you His vision for your life next month, He’ll give you the ideas to go by it. Maybe, the ideas He’ll provide you will beat your imagination. Trust Him.

2. Put down the tasks in dates of fulfilment

After listing the ideas, the next step is to put each one down on dates of fulfilment. But in doing this, weigh the heaviness of the tasks and your personal schedules too. For example, planning a weekend date with a friend can’t be done during weekdays.

Check the days of the month and strategise your tasks schedule so you can take them on one at a time.

3. Create an activity schedule document

After assigning dates of task fulfilment, create an activity schedule document to organise them. For me, I use Google Docs to do this. You may like Microsoft Word too.

I divide the table into three columns and rows depending on the number of days in the month. For the first column, I write the date there; second, I place a checkbox there (to check whether I was able to accomplish the task or not) and third, the actual activity there.

Having this document will help you to know what to do each day.

4. Keep a screenshot of the document or print it to serve as a guide for your day-to-day organisation

Whenever you’re organising your day, looking at the document you have your activity schedule on will help you know what you must do that day. I like converting the document into an image and adding it to my phone gallery’s favourite pictures. But you can print the document and keep the hard copy with you if you want it like that.

I hope this article has been a blessing to you.
